At the time of filing the application for the  4 award  described in the section Merging everal awards ARRL in a one application, I found that the majority of time takes find QSL-s in the home archive QSL cards. After thinking the issue I came to the conclusion that the best way to quickly find QSL  is numbering QSL cards in the form of  small sticker with the number of QSL card QSL stuck when marking in the logger that the QSL card was received. These stickers can be produced and printed by the program AWARD_SECRETARY . Besides in the logger should be present field , for enter the number of QSL cards. When importing data from a file .adi these numbers will be transported to the main table of the QSOs ie QSOS_AWARDS. After producing the application , it will be printed on this application, and in the case of awards  ARRL ,  and in the file  .adi . Sou , from this time QSL cards no longer need to be sorted and then inserted into the appropriate compartments. Just put them in the same order as they come.

Principles of cooperation with various loggers   are described in the next chapters

Using this method of numbering QSL cards should consider the problems  described below ;

1. General principles numbering QSL cards

2. Rules for numbering of new QSL received

3. Rules numbering old QSL cards placed in the sorted home archives QSL cards

4. Where and what to buy stickers for numbering QSL cards

1. General principles numbering QSL cards

Number QSL card is just a small sticker with dimensions 19.05 mm x 21.2 mm, which is stuck to the QSL card while selecting in a logger that a QSL card was received. , for example,

Sticker<br>
on the new <br>
QSL cards

Sticker
on the new
QSL cards

A sheet of labels which produces the program AWARD_SECRETARY for the new QSL cards looks

A sheet of labels to stick on new incoming
QSL while selecting QSO that received QSL card

This number you must insert into a program logger, what you use  in the selected field.  If this QSL's  confirmed a few QSOs. ie common QSL  card, then in the Logger in the selected field insert number consisting of Number QSL plus sign minus plus serial number of the QSO in the same order as it is listed in the QSL card, eg 6013-2 means that the number of QSL cards 6013 and the serial number of the QSO on the QSL = 2. This allows then print the application for a award sort the print and automatically find QSL common.

For old QSL's (ie, already placed in the home archive QSL cards) labels on the QSL card  have a little different look.

2. Rules for numbering of new QSL received

For the new QSL received, program AWARD_SECRETARY print only labels . To do this, select the bookmark No. 1. Main database of QSOs and Do Numering QSL cards

Selecting in the  main tab Do  numbering
old or new QSL

Appear now

Let's see if there are New QSL.

Checking if from ADIF files have already
been added a new QSL card numbers

Choose now  New QSL for print
a small labels on QSL cards

Some explanation requires No. initial labels for New QSO. You cannot put there  absolute value = 1.  I refer first do numering old  QSL . Program will give us what the last number was used. For me, for example, was used as the last number = 4500. Therefore, I as the Initial number of labels for New QSO I established as  6000. I do not mind the break in the numbering (1500), and will ensure that you can still add some QSO's latter, what   is not explained until the end.

Now appear

as bellow

Press Generate labels page<br>
If you dont need borders about labels uncheck this small box

Press Generate labels page

This brings us now display showing the labels to be printed in the tab Sheet application for print.

The same print can be made in the tab Printing and print preview application.

Print stickers labels for New QSL

Old QSLs are numbered automatically during the process described above. The previously used 4 sorting methods were abandoned as they were ineffective and obscured only the sorting process. Currently, only one sorting method is used, i.e.

sorting by DXCC number (ie by ADIF entity number) and then by station sign and then by QSO date
I recommend that you carefully review your archive of QSL cards. It should be carefully realized that the numbering of qsl cards should not be changed later, especially after the production of the application for the award. Assigned QSL card numbers are saved in the main QSOs table, ie the QSO_AWARDS table. and in the MYSQL  TEMP_QSO_QSL_NUMBERING table
If we have already numbered the QSL cards, then after re-selecting DO  numbering of old or new QSL cards, we will receive a message

Message about numbering already QSL cards.
You can only delete the QSL card number after
double-clicking on the card number

If there are common QSLs, it may happen that the presented order of QSOs on the common card by the program does not correspond to the order in which they appear on the real card, e.g.

QSO order for common QSL
card shown by the program

We want to change the order of the QSOs proposed by the program. This is done as follows

Move the QSOs up or down
within this same QSL in common

We see that the QSO has been
moved because the
date QSO is shifted

Other problems that we may encounter during the QSL card numbering problem:

The QSL card was lost and all search methods have failed. There is nothing else but to recognize that this QSO has not been confirmed. In fact, we should check this fact in the logger-e, re-produce the adif file and load it again. However, I am aware that such multiple production of the ADIF set would be too burdensome, therefore I propose the following procedure:;
in Logger we immediately mark that this QSL for this QSO was not received. Let's not produce a new adif set yet,
In the QSL numbering table, double-click on the selected number and we will get the possibility of canceling this number of the QSL card, because the QSL card is definitely there. lostFinally, we need to save our work to the QSOS_AWARDS table by pressing Save my QSL Numbering Work

Saving your work at the end

3. Rules numbering old QSL cards placed in the sorted home archives QSL cards

.. At this point, I recommend not immediately generations old labels for QSO and print them .I am sure . that  your archive QSL cards not have all cards placed in the same order as suggested by the program. Let's see first all the cards and arranged them exactly as proposed by the program. Only when everything is consistent, generate labels, print them and stick to the received QSL cards.

After selecting the generation of labels will appear

Generation of labels and then print labels

4. Where and what to buy stickers for numbering QSL cards

I  recommend purchase the self-adhesive labels , by polish etykiet samoprzylepnych IGEPA on polish Allegro

http://allegro.pl/etykiety-samoprzylepne-a4-igepa-rozne-100-arkuszy-i6185254455.html

Labels have  number 1 with dimensions of 38.1 mm x 21.2 mm .These are the smallest label I met. The program needs a label with dimensions of 19.05 mm x 21.2 mm .Therefore, these labels after printing will have to be cut with scissors so as to divide to the size of 38.1 mm / 2 = 19.05 mm.

If this address is up to date then you will have to look for them on the Allegro page
