You must first unzip the package MYSQL_v_5_1and_Tools.ZIP download it and run as follows

To install MYSQL Community Server in version  5.1 you must run mysql-essential-5.1.42-win32.msi . from  Total Commander or from Windows Explorer

Uncheck Registering - will begin now server configuration

Welcome in the configuration

In the wizard, select the Configuration Detail

Choose developed Machine Since only the application is on your computer

Choose Multifunctional

InnoDB tables storage location We leave as proposed by the wizard

Approve the 1st option as proposed by the wizard Decission Support dss / OLAP

Approve option as shown for TCP / IP

Approve option as shown for the latin1 character set

In this window, add the option to Include Bin Directory in Window Path

Now we need to set the root password - that is the main user of all MySQL databases. Let me give an unfamiliar topic for that for AWARDS_BASE   root is a different user than the user USER_AWARDS what we give to our database AWARDS_BASE - concerning awards.

Set the password for the root - root user User for  program AWARD_SECRETARY and password you set later by add new user

Readiness to to final configuration wizard. Press Execute and will be filled points in the above window

Report about final configuration  MYQSL and complete the installation

Let us remember that we have installed MySQL server. MySQL server itself is not a program that creates a user interface. This interface only create application programs - such as the MySQL Client or AWARD_SECRETARY. To see what is installed and see if MySQL server is running, we can run the MySQL client as follows:
